Working with us and our members
At PPMA we place great importance on building sustainable and mutually beneficial partnerships.
We pride ourselves on being the influential voice for the HR and OD professions within the public sector and ensure we play a key role in shaping the future of public services within the UK. To achieve these aims, we work closely with a broad range of other organisations, meet regularly with influential figures at the heart of government and investigate ways that our various projects and initiatives can complement the work of colleagues in other parts of the public sector.
We pride ourselves on our existing relationships and close ties with the Chartered Institute for Personnel & Development (CIPD), the Cabinet Office and Central Government Departments, including Communities and Local Government (CLG). We maintain a strong voice and partnership with the Local Government Association (LGA) and the Local Government Group which supports it. We also work closely with a range of other professional bodies and organisations including the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives and Senior Managers (SOLACE) and the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO). We also work closely with a broad range of commercial partners who work in and provide services to the public sector, including executive search and selection companies, recruitment and advertising agencies, employment law and HR advisory consultancies and, importantly, the various publications and media channels that cover the workings of both the HR and OD profession and public services.
We work collaboratively with these key partners to formulate strategies for the advancement of people management and development in the public sector and to ensure that HR and OD professionals remain at the heart of public service improvement and reform.
